Great watch while it worked.

I purchased this watch on Nov. 24th 2017. It worked great for about a year and a half, I think had battery issues. Watch stopped charging to 100%, tried all the tricks I read online, draining it all the way, allow a full recharge etc...nothing worked. Read that there was an issue with a recent patch that some of the devices were having the issue I was having, they patched again...still the battery wouldn't go above 70% charge. Finally I broke down and bought a kit to replace it myself. Worked great, 100% battery again without issue. Worked for another year and then just stopped, nothing. I even put the old battery back in thinking the new one had died. Nope, just a brick now. While it was working it was awesome, loved it, hated that I had the battery issues.

Samsung pay not supported when paired with S10

Can't go without it now

I've had this for half a year maybe and I can't complain. I don't use a lot of the features; I'm like bone thin so I would need to wear it very tightly to really benefit from the health tracking but I rather loosen it and be comfortable and just be a cool watch. I bought it a month before the new Galaxy watches so that upset me that I bought the newest without any of the discounts you see on it now, just for it to not be the newest in a snap. It was my bad for buying it so late, it was my first smartwatch, but they did update it recently to run the newest Tizen OS so they actually made me quite happy considering I don't feel the need to upgrade. Very useful and can change how you do things everyday. One of the best features is the alarm clock that syncs with my phone; I always wake up to phone alarms now!

Received my Gear 3 Classic for CHRISTMAS and really love it! I enjoy all the features. Main reason I want one was for the heart monitor. Also nice when a text comes in and you're to busy to reach into your pocket and all you have to do is look at your watch! Plus I like keeping up with my steps as I exercise for weight loss. I've had my classic for eight months now. Went through all the questions that I see most ask. But, after it's set up like you want, Samsung fit, custom apps and unlimited watch faces it will turn out to be your best companion. I'm always finding something new once I think it's the final form. It's a great timepiece along being a full computer that can manage everything you want it to or let it. If mine would get lost, stolen or fail me I would have another within 24 hours. After doing a "find my watch" procedure on my linked phone of course. Great device with unending toys, oops apps!

Great beginning, then slow death

Gear S3 battery started draining badly and charging slowly after recent update. It also started rebooting itself and factory resetting. The Galaxy Wearable (Samsung Gear) phone app could not see that the phone and watch were already paired and no "SKIP" failover option is provided and it just hangs. When you exit out from the app/screen, the watch starts the reset process all over. The only use now is the time. All customization I've done in the last 8 months since I bough the watch is gone. No more health, no more watch faces and the Samsung account app on the phone doesn't remember that I purchased or downloaded the watch faces the way Google Play Store remembers.

I've had the Frontier for nearly a month now and I love it. Initially, I ran my battery down with open apps and the different watch faces. I read on how to preserve battery life and it has worked. But I have gotten at least 4 days of use without recharging. I could have gotten 5 days easily, but I read that its not good to let it drain pass 40%. I had a problem with it slipping when my wrist sweats a little during workouts. I now put a rubber band on my arm to keep it in place. Overall, it has a powerful speaker and great feature. If it would sync with Nike+ run club, it would be amazing.

Gear S3 classic battery drain

I have Gear S3 classic sing February 2017 and it used to be a good watch until the last few months (August-September 2018). I think that after the last software upgrade (Tizen 3.0) my battery started draining from 100% to 2% in a few minutes. I factory reset the watch a few times without any improvement. I contacted Samsung tech support and the only explanation that I've got is the watch is out of warranty and most likely i's a hardware issue. Do they read Samsung blogs at all, where a lot of customers are complaining about the same problem. In addition I don't see any response from Samsung company about the issue and plans to fix it. The only reason I bought this watch is because I owe Samsung phone and enjoyed Samsung pay until it stopped working. Before you start producing new smartwatches like Samsung Galaxy, address the issue with your gear s3 watches. I cannot even complete the phone settings after factory reset. The phones battery dies in the middle of the setting process. Samsung, do not ignore your customers and fix the problem, if you value our business!!! There are other smartwatch options on the market.

Almost a great smartwatch

Had the Galaxy S3 classic for about two weeks. Used the telephone, the music player, etc. with ease. All worked as told. My biggest surprise is when I used it to pay a bill on a swipe-only device and it did it. No other pay system can do that. My one and only complaint is the wristband design. It is awful. Maybe some people find it easy to replace bands, but I don't. However, except for this one annoyance, the watch is terrific.

Did lots of research and this is consistently rated at the top of available smart watches. Best features are large display, battery life, rotating bezel, full range of health/tracking, appearance, and smooth operating system. Others may do better in 1 or 2 categories, but overall this is top-flight to pair with android phones. Would LOVE to have improvements in S-voice, and I sincerely hope Samsung has something in the works to make this an almost perfect smartwatch. Older reviews mention problems with functions that have been corrected with updated available apps (text messages, email notifications). This is my 3rd smart watch (first 2 from another manufacturer) and by far the best experience yet.

Nice Toy / Does Very Little

First the good stuff: It looks nice. Answer and make calls. I have had this watch for well over a year now. Samsung has still not put up useful apps. The S voice NEVER works despite resetting it many times. 90% of the Apps and Watch faces are rated poorly and for good reason. Every time I have to reset the device (at least once a month..) I have to input all my cards onto Samsung Pay. Unless, you don't use the Always On Display, the battery life will deteriorate and drain very quickly. As far as the actual watch is concerned, after about 3 months I needed to replace the junky band and it had some serious scratches on it.

First and last smart watch

Bought this because a friend has one and loves it. This review is the classic because I wanted something dressy - he has the frontier. First issue: action buttons on the right side stick out too much and I am always pushing them accidentally. I have also had 2 software issues which are deal-breakers: the watch goes into "sleep" mode (face black) and won't wake up without a hard reset by rebooting. This happens a couple of times a week. Second issue is the other day after charging, the watch face was inverted and would not rotate to the correct orientation until much fiddling by pressing buttons and rotating watch face. I attempted to get a warranty claim and you can click on the product in my account and request service, but oh wait: the web site won't let you do that, it's only for phones. So now I am not sure how to request warranty service and may be stuck with a $360 paperweight. I have had multiple Samsung products over the years but am very disappointed in this watch.

its an okay smart watch

This is my very first smart watch and I have to say I expected a little more. Especially since they say "you get what you paid for" not quite in this case. Paid more and expected more. What I do not like is the phone has to be for example just stretch out my arm and I can grab my phone. Another bad is not many free nice apps for it you have to buy them. What is nice are the calls sound nice and clear the music sounds great, nice image. I haven't had any trouble with the Bluetooth or connecting it with bluetooth. What I do not like is like I said I have to be really close to the phone would be nice if i can for example be like 10 or 6 steps away but not possible. I was expecting a bit more out of it so I wasn't that pleased I do have a small wrist it doesn't bother me at all. At first yes but after a day I was use to it I do have the original straps that came with the gear 3 classic. Next time i might just go with a plain android and test those out.

It was a gift for my birthday. All the features were amazing. Take a call make a call. Answer a text by voice. See a text. Notifications would appear. Steps tracker. Then all of a sudden I did the software update and I've never been able to use the voice to text when sending a reply to a text message again... Bummer, unhappy face.

I really like my Samsung Gear S3 Classic

I love all of the bells and whistles on this fitness watch, I had a Fitbit Surge watch and although it did most of what I wanted it to do, it did not compare to what this watch will do. I do not know of another fitness watch that will do what this watch will do. There are a couple of things though that I would recommend to Samsung. 1. Find a way to charge the S3 faster. My Fitbit Surge charged much faster. 2. At times, the S3 thinks that I am sleeping when I do not move much, like watching TV, or working in my office. I am pretty sure that I am awake. I would also like to be able to download the Gear app to my Laptop. The Smart phone works great, but I believe it would be convenient to have it on my PC and smart phone. Overall, I give this watch very high marks. I have only had it a few weeks, but I do not see my opinion changing.

Everything great, except Gear Plug in

I love everything, had for 3 months now. The Gear Plug in app is horrible! Shuts down, makes the phone delayed, and the watch. Reset over and over, and huge hassle. I really hope an update comes soon.

Tbis device is perfect for for anyone on the go! It is great for workouts if you want to track your exercise and ditch your phone because you can put music on it. This is a must have to go with any mobile device.

Love the watch, but one annoying thing ruins it

I upgraded from the Gear s2 classic. I was having issues with it because after the Gear app update, I was unable to receive text notifications on my watch. So I returned it and spent the extra money on the Gear s3 classic thinking it would work better. Nope. Same issue. I am upset because I spent the extra money on a watch that I didn't need to. I found a fix and that is downloading a 3rd party sms app which works. It makes no sense to me that getting texts on a Samsung watch from a Samsung phone won't work using Samsung's own texting app. Samsung, I love the watch but I may end up returning it if this issue doesn't get resolved.

Great Watch

Overall, I love this watch. My biggest complaint is that it is so thick. But then again, it is a full blown computer. Right out of the box it was easy to set up, pair with my Samsung phone and use. Very intuitive as well. No guessing about how to use apps, or install additional watch faces. I really like being able to look at the watch to see who is calling/texting without having to grab my phone from my pocket.
