Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Love the door-in-door feature and shelving flexibility. Lighting and features are very good. Craft ice in freezer would be useful if it made more than just the ball ice. Making three pieces of ice in 24 hours is kind of ridiculous and the icemaker failed after less than one year. Icemaker in door still works very well. Had difficulty with in door water filter. Confusion over sizes or a change in filter specifications resulted in leakage that was very difficult to remedy. Compressor failed after three years but LG was able to replace it within a week at no charge to us which is an excellent warranty.

Good refrigerator poor craft icemaker.

I have had this refrigerator for about 2 years now. After the first year the craft ice maker has quit working. This is the main feature that caused me to buy this machine. I find it troubling that they can not make an ice maker that will last more than a year without breaking.

I bought this refrigerator 9/15/2021 and have been very happy with it. The refrigerator is beautiful in our home and has all the features one would want in a refrigerator and it does all of them well. The only problem we have had in a little over three year is a problem with the Craft ice maker is in the botton Freezer. LG has taken great care of the fix at no cost to me. Great Company

We like our fridge. Especially French doors which fit grate in the narrow space and still open all the way. The little complaint is that it is tricky to replace the air filter and it is done on the back wall which is difficult to rich.

Love affair gone bad

This is the first time I have LOVED a refrigerator. The organization in the freezer set up makes it easy to find things. The door in door is awesome. The flex shelf is a brilliant idea. We didnt use the 2nd icemaker at all. Anyway this 4 star love affair ended just short of two years. After two separate repairmen coming out for compressor issues they determined that it would cost more to fix thanntobrepair. Our extended warranty fully reimbursed us. Two years for a fridge we paid $2900 seems a shame especially when we were in love.

In less than a year of ownership Ive had 3 motherboards and two compressors replaced and the freezer compartment STILL shuts down causing anything in the freezer to melt and spoil. I have been waiting since June 17th for LG to complete my refund which they agreed too. Its been over 5 weeks and they havent completed what they promised to do. Also found out thru research I am not alone. The inverter compressor is a KNOWN problem for years they have not fixed. Do not buy one of their refrigerators as they only work part time.

Poorly designed ice makers top bottom

We bought this 30 cu. ft. refrigerator 4 years ago and the craft ice maker has failed 3 times the final time 2 months after the extended warranty expired. The on-door ice maker also has a design flaw. The cubes freeze together on one side of the ice bin building up and preventing ice from making. The cubes on the opposite side dispense leaving the bin depleted but not remaking cubes. This necessitates removing the bin weekly and shaking it to keep the cubes separated and dispensing evenly.

Was good at first but then started glitching...

Worked great at first but now the water/ice panel has started glitching. It flashes on and then off randomly over and over again. If you attempt to get water while its doing this it does a start/stop. Theres a mechanical sound coming from the panel but Im unable to localize where its coming from. Very disappointing because I love everything else about this refrigerator. It has so much space

Cant stand tall items on Shelving. Bottom ice maker makes only 3 balls at a time and takes forever. Have to make extra ice with ice trays.

Craft icemaker broke after 4 months

Our craft icemaker broke within the first four months. It has now taken almost 2 months to receive the replacement icemaker. Also we bought a full warranty however they do not have anyone to come out and install it. We have to install it ourselves. Not cool for a $4000 refrigerator.

No video and no directions.

Ice maker quit making ice.Still under warranty and they said they would send the parts and a video to watch so we could replace it ourselves the part came with NO video and no directions.

Disappointing

I have had my LG ThinQ refrigerator for not quite a year. A month ago the ice maker stopped making ice. I checked the owners manual looked online and watched videos to try to fix it myself. When I couldnt I called for a service appointment. 2 weeks later and Im still waiting another week for a tech. Also the air filter cover is located on the back wall of the top shelf and is impossible to reach and open. Im hoping the tech can help with that as well. None of this should be happening after less than a year

Ok - but hate the craft ice maker

The refrigerator and freezer itself are fine. It has enough room and has a nice layout. As for the freezer craft ice maker it is horrible. It has stopped working 3 times in the 2 years I have owned it. I would never buy a craft ice maker again. It is a long process to get the repair started. The first time they would not come out. The second time they came out and it was fast. The third time they just offered to mail it and we have to install it.

I bought this in 2021 and it has been a great refrigerator and freezer. The only issue I havre had is to replace the refrigerator fan. The service was done quickly things are staying cold once again.

It broke in 3 years and they fixed it by changing the whole compressor. Then 3 years later it is not cooling again For a product this price but such a poor qualityAnd to fix it now it maybe cost 500 dollars and they only can come next MONDAY. I think you should avoid LG products.

Life is Not So Good2 4/21/2024

Very dissapointed in this fridge. First unit that was delivered was defective. HD said I had to go through LG to get it replaced. It took LG 2 weeks to get me a new fridge. Second unit worked great for about a month and then stopped making craft ice. I did all the troubleshooting and eventually found out that the design is flawed and it will not work reliably. Cannot get a warrenty repair becuase its a design flaw rather than a defective part. Now my fridge is dispalying error codes periodically. The only way to clear the code is to unplug the fridge. Since the plug is behind the fridge I have to pull it away from the wall about once a week to clear the code. According to the diagnostics the frezer fan is the problem and will need to be replaced. All this in less than 2 years

Dont buy this appliance

In 2021 i purchased the 30 cubic french door LG the freezer began melting everything. After this happened 3 times and service man could never find anything wrong when he arrived several days later they replaced the refrigerator with a new 30 cubic french door LG. That was in Sept of 2022. Now once again everything in the freezer melted in this new LG. Three days later a LG service man came and replaced the compressor even though the refrigerator was working fine when he came. I can not trust LG to work so when I go out of town frequently I have to empty my freezer. I will never buy another LG refrigerator. I feel LG should give me my money back. I never was able to be reimbursed for my food lose as they said the food in the refrigerator section was not affected.

Terrible customer service

Weve had this refrigerator for a little over two years. We love the style and for the most part its been fine. However we have had to replace the craft ice maker 3 times or my husband has had to remove it and unstick the ice. The last time I called to replace it I asked if theyd heard of the Lemon Law I was told that the warranty was expired. I was on the phone with them for hours. They were supposed to call the next day but I did not hear from them again. My husband removed the ice maker melted the ice that was stuck in it got the arm working again and put it back together. My friend has the same refrigerator that is about a year older and has never had to call them.

Terrible product. The filer housing is made of cheap plastic which became worn down after a few filter replacements which means that the fridge can no longer hold a filter - it just pops out immediately. This means the fridge leaks if the water isnt shut off. The tech said this is a known issue from cheap parts and that it would cost several hundred to get a replacement part which will simply have the same issue eventually. Absolutely pathetic on LGs part to put something like this on the market.

Nice fridge love the craft ice if its working

I bought this refrigerator two years ago. I love everything about it other than the craft icemaker has broken twice already. And the craft ice was one of the main reasons I chose this refrigerator. But hard to replace once a year at $300 for parts and $200 for labor.

History with LG on the part of this owner

This is the third LG refrigerator I have had. The first one I purchased and Im gonna be honest in this review was a dog. I had problems with it early on. At one point the compressor died and it had to be replaced and I had to wait a number of weeks before the repair man actually had the part and that was actually waiting for him to be able to come out to look at it which was at least a week. The compressor was free but the labor was very expensive. While I was on vacation in California my neighbors were checking on. My house came in and it was water on the floor. The refrigerator died. They fortunately unplugged it and cleaned everything up. This was during the time of Covid and to get a refrigerator was very difficult. The one I actually was thinking of getting I wouldve had to wait six months in order to get it. So I decided to take a chance and I bought another LG because I really like the inside layout for everything and I really like the icemaking mechanism. it was the only time I purchased an extended warranty. Im happy to say I never had to use it. I did join the lawsuit on this particular line or models of LG of which I did receive a settlement. I can truly say I never had a problem with the second LG it works great that led me to purchase another one in California that one is a cabinet depth model and it is wonderful so I have owned three LGs and the first one was not so hot. The last two have been wonderful. And I did get an extension of the warranty through LG on this refrigerator. my son who is an adult lives in the house out there in California loves it. So thinking that LG refrigerators were bad. I now take the viewpoint is the really great. Now I have to say I always liked many of the features of all the models but Im certainly impressed with the improvements that they have made with the compressor and the cooling system system. Both refrigerators keep greens or vegetables fresher longer.. I would not hesitate at all to buy another LG.

Compressor went out still under warranty but nobody in my area willing to install lg didnt care either and Home Depot where I purchased washed there hands from say it was the manufacture problem not there so just like that became a shopper who wont buy From LG or Home Depot plenty of other places out there.

Its nice until the parts fail

I bought this refrigerator 2 years ago and I love it. Its a very spacious refrigerator However the condenser and fan all died and it took forever to get the parts and customer service was awful. These parts shouldnt have failed in 2 years.

Nice unit. Very deep hard to reach top shelf items in the back. Drawers dont open without both doors open. Left door slams right door needs help to close.
