Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. Problem with model

I bought this refrigerator after having owned another LG fridge for 10 years but for some reason this one has had over six issues where it stopped cooling would not push cold air from freezer to upper fridge or the ice maker. Have had LG technicians out to repair it and now am having another issue with the same fridge again. Now it is being placed on an outside agency to repair it. At what point would LG consider this fridge a lemon and replace it for the customer. I own over four LG appliances and after this experience not sure if will be getting LG appliances in the future.

I purchased what the sales person said was the number one fridge less than three years ago and just had a service call for a condenser motor cost of 450 and now know these condensers are a problem. Now if I want an extended warranty it is 500 for one year. I will not be buying another LG anything.

Shelves terrible. Bins bad. Water not cold.

Shelves are terrible There is nowhere you can put a standard size 8 inches tall water bottle upright without extra empty shelf supports between them. Top and bottom shelves to first support biggest gaps are 7.5 inches. So for an extra 1/2 inch you have to give up 2.5 of the 3 inches between each support. Also each shelf bracket has to have an empty shelf support between so the closest you can get the shelves is approximately 6 inches...not really because there is a lip you have to maneuver under and top of shelf to top of shelf is nearly 6 inches...but not quite. Salsa pickles jams....many condiments....6.5 inches so another 2.5 inches wasted. The fruit and vegetable drawers are poorly designed. You have to open both doors to open a drawer beyond a couple inches because they meet in the middle and run into the other door. The long drawer in the bottom isnt bad but it is SO SHALLOW approximately 3 inches deep. That accommodates stacking 2-3 packages of sliced cheese or a blister pack of deli meat. This refrigerator is obviously not designed for the American market and American products. Final complaint is the water in door is not cold. I dont know how it can be only 3 degrees cooler than the water coming out of my faucet when the lines are INSIDE THE REFRIGERATOR. I dont expect a huge reservoir but I do expect to be able to fill a glass with COLD water when the lines havent been used in an hour or two.

We bought this fridge from Costco and Ive had zero issues with it. The ice is made quickly and the temperature stay stead. There is also plenty of room in the refrigerator with many drawers and bins. Its easy to clean and any questions I have had to LG customer service has gone well and they have been very friendly.

Ice maker is very dependent to outside air. Each summer the ice production slows. After 4 years the fridge stopped cooling. The first instance support was good and replaced the compressor quickly. The second instance 2 weeks later support was fair but repair service has taken over a week to repair. Still waiting...

TERRIBLE PRODUCT AND TERRIBLE SERVICE

It broke down completely useless after 3 years. It was the compressor apparently a common issue with this model. I was told after 5 service appointments that it was irreparable and that I would get some sort of new unit or a comparable compensation. Ive waited for 4 months. Ive called costumer service about 20 times waited on the phone approximately 40 hours and despite promises that they will take care of it and that someone will call back nothing has been accomplished NOTHING. To say that LG has bad customer service would be misleading the understatement of the year. The customer service is so poor that it deserves to be highlighted as the worse customer service in a business 101 class. TERRIBLE quality TERRIBLE service terrible company.

The Freezer Fan failed on this unit due to a problem at the factory. It took 1.5 weeks to get it repaired. During the process we were told we could be reimbursed for lost food once the repair was complete the lost food reimbursement offer was withdrawn. The failure was due to an issue in the factory nothing we had control of. The refrigerator should never have failed in the first place. The manufacturer failed to stand behind their product.

We bought 3 LG refrigerators in a span of 10 years. All of them have been failing to freeze or cool after 3/4 years. The last problem was recent and the refrigerator after being checked by a technician was declared unrepairable with restrictions or an internal leakage.

Great fridge until compressor fails within 4 yrs

Merely 4 years old and the compressor has failed. The freezer section is not going below 30 degrees and the fridge area is at 50 degrees. Filled out a form using ThinQ app which includes the serial number. Turns out it is out of warranty. Awaiting response from LG support. The design of the appliance is good. There is plenty of space adjustable shelves. We shopped at various places and picked LG because of the design and features. No doubt it is among the best in that space. But an appliance that doesnt cool because of a compressor failing in 4 years totally negates all other positive points. A typical compressor should last 20 years. And that is the reason for 1 star.

I bought this in July and have had to have the ice maker replaced. Its still not making ice They have said a LG tech would reach us to set up time and day. So far we have not heard from them. Been over a week since they told me this. Makes no ice or just two drops of ice.

Decent fridge except the door shelves

Fridge is fine except the door shelves break too easily. 40$ for a replacement. Not very sturdy at least to hold mustard and ketchup. If LG has upgraded their quality this would be a 4.5/5. Its such an annoying hassle to not have the door shelves.

Warm water

When we first got our new fridge we had very warm water out of the dispenser on the door. I gave it two weeks to fix and it didnt. So I contacted customer service and they told me it would be something that is not covered under the warranty so they went through different steps to fix it but they never did. So to this date we have had it since August 1st and it still has warm water coming out. :

Loved the look - but needed repairs at one year

I love the look of this refrigerator. It has all the features we were looking for when we purchased it from Home Depot.However less then a year later the fan for the ice maker went out and needed to be replaced. The repair was done quickly and we were back in business. Two months later the refrigerator started to make horrible noises we called for a repair and overnight the refrigerator stopped working - was not cooling the whole unit. The local repair person who was sent from LG said he would order the correct part - the fan assembly. We believed the part would be ordered locally but was told due to our warranty it had to be ordered from the LG Warehouse in Alabama - BUT it would be expedited according to the contract with LG and the repair shop. It took TWENTY days before the repair person could come back to our house with the part. Totally unacceptable - I called customer service at LG FOUR times and was told by customer service that the warehouse had 7 to 10 days to send out the part to Denver to the local repair company. We are very unhappy with the amount of time we were without our refrigerator and are actually very concerned about the quality of this product since we had a rough start at the one year mark of purchase.

Lg refrigerator and service are not very good. My refrigerator is under warranty the fan and possibly the compressor stopped working. I am a month without a refrigerator and still trying to get a service person to come to the house. Lg said a tech person will call. Never did. Just getting the run around. Local technicians wont touch Lg products. Remember this is under warranty poor service

Love the craft ice maker

Ive had this fridge for about 2 years and I love it. Until the craft ice maker had issues. I looked online found a fix and got it working again. After a while it stopped making ice. I turned it off to give it a rest and during that time the ice maker via its app contacted LG and said it was broke. LG sent me an email asking them to contact them to set up a time to have the ice maker replaced. I knew noon of this until I got the email. They came out quickly replaced the ice maker for free and Im loving the fridge again.

Terrible product qualitycalled continuously for repairs. Ice maker clumping ice in reservoir ice and condensation build up in bottom freezer door. LG has changed alot of parts but never fixes problems. Management doesnt care at alldont return callsdisappear after talking to them then nobody knows how to contact them again or thats part of the game they play. Didnt expect this type of response from a big company like LG.Buy a better brand.

Terrible Customer Service

Bought the refrigerator 10 months ago and the freezer defrost mode does not work and the fridge temperature goes 60 degrees. Called LG customerservice and they said it would take 3-5 working days to get a repair tech scheduled. 5 days later one was scheduled for a week later he came out said not repairable LG said they need a second opinion one was scheduled a week later and the repair tech said yes the freezer defrost was not working but could not repair it today since he was only called to do diagnostic and not repair and it would be another week before he could come a try to repair the unit. Terrible LG customer service will not buy another LG product because if something goes wrong during the warranty period they dont honor the warranty.

Expensive repairs for applicances 3 years old

Purchased three LG appliances 3 years ago. Within the past 5 days all three showed error codes. Also the refrigerator ice maker broke and the touch pad on the oven is broken. $350 just for the part to repair that. Dont know what it will cost to repair the refrigerator. Three years old These appliances are just terrible having to put money out for expensive repairs within three years is just ridiculous.
