Purchased for the new dryer we ordered. Allowed us to get the dryer closer to the wall so it wasnt in the walkway. Pain to install but worth it.

Arrived four days after ordering online. Installed yesterday on a new LG DLE7150W. Straightforward except for taping the connections which was challenging due to tight spaces nearby wires and large hands. But it does the job--venting to the side instead of the rear--very well.

We needed a side vent because of a small laundry closet so Im happy this was an option but installing it requires a lot of patience and I cut my hands and arms several times reaching through the vent pipe holes to manipulate the duct pieces and tape. Long sleeves and gloves are recommended but have you ever tried to use duct tape while wearing gloves? I recommend taping around the openings that you will be reaching through to make them safer. I cant believe that duct tape is the best way to secure the new pipes to one another after securing the first with a screw. If it was just a matter of sealing the seam the process would not be nearly so difficult. Also the removeable panel on the side of the dryer wasnt only held on by the tabs so I had to hammer a screwdriver around the circumference to remove it. Youll see instruction videos online that show dismantling the dryer to install the side vent which is the other option and might be safer but might also void the warranty. Neither of the two stores we considered buying the dryer from would install the side vent for us. The instructions were straightforward so I was able to do it but I was cursing and practicing my calming breathing the entire time.

This is the optional side-venting kit I purchased with my new LG dryer. Very easy to install. All parts included. Simply remove the rear vent block the hole and attach side vent.

I bought this to move the vent to the side of the laundry tower since my laundry room is super tiny. Installation was pretty easy the exhaust pipe was too long for the side depth of the dryer. My husband had to trim off a few inches in order for it to fit perfectly. It worked out but I probably could not have done it by myself.
